We are very happy and proud to introduce you to our family tree. It has a recorded history of over thousand years.
The Mappilassary family settled in Champakulam, Kerala, India around 1144 AD. Since then, many generations have passed. Our grandfather is Thomman Mathai who was the youngest of four brothers; he did not take the Mappilassary Tharavadu. According to tradition, the youngest inherits the tharavadu, instead he settled in Puthenveedu. Thommen Mathai had three sons and two daughters. The eldest daughter Chachikunju (Catherine) married Itirachen, Anathanam Kanjirappally. The second child, Thommikunju (PM Thomas) married Aleyamma from Kallarackel(parampil) Kanjirappally. The third, Pennamma married Pothachen Kulathinkal, Changanacherry. The forth child, Chackochen married Pennamma from Karuvalithara, Mampuzhakarry and the last child, Ousephen married Babykutty from Malayil, Alleppey. Now only Chakochen, Pennamma and Babykutty are alive.
The eldest son Thommikunju(PM Thomas) is our father. He has eight sons and one daughter. The following is a brief synopsis of the family. Our father passed away on June 9, 1981, and our mother passed away on May 20, 2001. The oldest child, Thomas Mathew M.D.(Mathachen) married Thresiamma from Kallukalam Changanacherry. Thomas Joseph (Ousephachen) married Kochumaraiamma from Kurialacherry Champakulam. Thomas George(Vaccachen) married to Marykutty from Palakunnel Changanacherry. Mariamma married Davis Pathaden from Elavoor Angamally. Thomas John(Oommachen) married Annamma from Kollamparampil, Kurumpanadom, Changancherry. Thomas Sebastian(Devasiachen) married Aniamma Powathil from Kainakarry. Thomas Chacko(Chakkappen) married Gracy from Kirianthan Narackel Ernakulam. Thomas Abraham(Itirachen) married Usha from Bangalore. Thomas Anthony(Anthonichen) married Geena from Kallukaran Trichur.
THE FAMILY OF OOMMACHEN AND ANNAMMA
Oommachen married Annamma, eldest child of Chacko Abraham and Aleyamma who belong to the Vadacherry family in Mundakayam. Oommachen, after his bachelors degree migrated to the United States on May 5, 1973. He received his Masters degree in bio-chemistry. Annamma who has her Masters degree in Anthropology married Oommachen on December 31,1978 and migrated to the United States on June 28,1979. Oommachen and Annamma have two children, Christina and Christopher.
